Komedia Kids & Made in Whitehawk presents: Comedy Workshops in partnership with The Crew Club

A 10 week comedy course for young people aged 11 - 16

In Oct 2022 – Dec 2022, across 10 weeks Komedia Kids delivered a Comedy Workshop programme for young people aged 11-16 at The Crew Club in partnership with ‘Made in Whitehawk‘. Made in Whitehawk is a new community arts project with people of Whitehawk, working closely with Whitehawk FC.

The young people learnt a variety of comedy skills from special guests including Callum Donnelly (slapstick), Michael Akadiri (stand-up comedy), Victoria Melody (performance, writing, stand up comedy) and Sarah Davies (clowning), developed their performance & writing skills, grew in confidence, met new people and most importantly had lots of fun and laughs along the way.

At the end of the course the young people (who had never performed before) put on a comedy gig at The Crew Club performing in front of friends and family with comedian Michael Akadiri hosting the night.

Two of the young people also got the chance to perform at ‘Stand up for Whitehawk‘ at Whitehawk FC headlined by comedian Mark Thomas.
