Past Projects

Hangleton & Knoll Youth Project

With funding from a BBC Comedy Grant, we were able to deliver a full programme of weekly term-time comedy workshops in Hangleton from Sep 2024 to Feb 2025, supported by Hangleton & Knoll Youth Project. Workshops were led in the main by Tom Veryzer, with a host of guest leaders coming in to teach clowning, physical comedy, improvisation and more. Previous attendees of our Brighton Dome Comedy Festival workshops took on mentorship roles for new performers to help build their confidence as they tried out new skills and techniques. As well as honing their performance skills, participants tried out behind-the scenes-roles, with one young member doing the tech for our live showcase. Along with members of Laughter Crew, the Hangleton Gang wowed their friends and family when they performed and worked behind the scenes to deliver an incredible showcase at Komedia in February 2025.

The Crew Club

From September 2024 – to May 2025 we continued to deliver weekly Comedy Workshops at the The Crew Club for young people ages 11 – 16. Comedian Tom Veryzer led the workshops which were steered by the interests of the young participants and covered everything from parody to musical comedy. We worked hard to create a safe space for people to experiment creatively and build their confidence. Some of the Laughter Crew gang performed at a live comedy showcase at Komedia in February 2025.
