We are delighted to announce we are returning for the third year to deliver a programme of Comedy Workshops for young people aged 11-16 as part of the Brighton Dome Comedy Festival 2026 and we cannot wait for the fun to begin.
Led by comedian Tom Veryzer, along with a host of special guest comedians, these Comedy Workshops focus on a variety of elements, from stand-up, improv and character comedy to developing writing skills, building confidence in public speaking, plus observing, questioning, and experimenting with ideas.
The programme consists of 8 workshops across 6 weeks, culminating in a live showcase on Sun 25 Oct, where participants have the opportunity to perform in Brighton Dome’s Studio Theatre.*
Across the weeks we’ll look at how material is developed, along with gaining an insight into marketing a show and a glimpse into behind the scenes roles.
DATES:
Sat 19 Sep, 26 Sep, 3 Oct, 10 Oct, 17 Oct, 24 Oct, 2-4pm
Sun 18 Oct, 2-4pm
Sun 25 Oct, 2–5pm including tech rehearsal, 6pm show call and 7pm–8.15pm performance in the Studio Theatre

*We ask that participants are available to attend all the dates, including the showcase.
